Overshoes on the Beach. Inspired by contemporary society's technological advancement, the installation ‘Overshoes on the Beach’ was set up in Liepaja for the summer season. Positioned at the entrance to the beach, a playful vending machine offered beachgoers disposable overshoes—a humorous yet poignant alternative to direct interaction with the sand. Through this ironic intervention, the installation drew attention to humanity’s growing detachment from the natural world and its escalating dependence on technological convenience. The project thus created a striking commentary on the tension between human comfort and authentic connection with nature.
